BB Cream War in the Philippines

I have been crazy about BB creams for the longest time now. I first heard about this from Grace Lee on her radio show a couple of years ago and I was fascinated with the promise that it works like a foundation but it feels lighter. It has more benefits such as SPF and other minerals. It's good for people with bad skin and it's very subtle and it won't appear you wear one. It's like wearing a foundation plus getting more. More so, coverage is good. So, I thought this what I needed since I always had break outs and I hated make up since it's itchy. BB creams has been popular in Korea and used by many celebrities.
But BB creams back then were very expensive and mostly manufactured in Korea. The one Grace Lee sold back then was about PhP900 and it's already discounted. Famous Koreans carry them like Etude House, Missha and Nature Republic. Another thing is that they are very light for the Southeast Asian skin.
But later, the Philippines caught on and started offering BB creams. The first one I bought was from Avon's (forgot the name) and it cost about 300. It was great because it had medium coverage enough to cover minor blemishes.  And it was matte and not oily. My sister commented that I was wearing a foundation because the effect was the same as one.
I also tried recently Maybelline's 8-in-1 BB Cream in nude for 350. It has SPF and minor concealing effect and other benefits. Coverage was good and it had a matte finish. Only that it didn't last long.
After watching Beauty Blogger Say Tioco-Artillero's review on YouTube, I decided to buy Shawill Whitening BB Cream in No.4 for 350.  Coverage was minimal and it was super cake-y and the skin doesn't absorb it well. I noticed that when I used my phone the residue is left on the LCD of my Android! It was also itchy.
Recently, I added Simply Pretty BB Cream from Avon again in my collection. It was cheap for less than 150 and it was  made especially for teenagers who can't afford expensive ones. Avon has a more expensive line but I was running out of money so I chose it. I wasn't expecting much from it but I was surprised that it has great coverage, thick and blends easily to the skin. It has only one shade which is for medium but works for the typical Pinay skin with the help of a bronzer.
Lastly, I was gifted a Pond's BB Cream. I always wanted to buy one, but it was so expensive for almost 400. But I heard a lot of good reviews from local bloggers so I was so happy to get one.  What I first noticed about it was it's great coverage. It almost concealed my visible  pimple marks. It was too light  for Pinay skin though.         However, it blends well with the skin and with the help of a bronzer. Tip: Apply the it early before going out to leave it  time to blend in. You wouldn't want to look like a clown.
Choosing a BB cream can be difficult. In this day of information, it will help if we read reviews from beauty bloggers and the information of the product. Know what you really want in a BB cream. Consider the price as well. It would be advisable to buy sample sachets or smaller amounts. You would get to try it without breaking the bank. So after trying them then you could now decide which works for you the best.
